Description

Studio class that explores further the themes, practices, contexts, and questions undertaken during the introductory studio class while introducing the concept of public space and current events. The workshop consists of a series of lectures and hands-on assignments that examine issues of reception, documentation, representation, expression and communication. Analog and digital methods, three-dimensional construc-tions, figurative improvisations and design proposals for public space attempt to capture the distinctions between the private and the public, the monumental and the everyday.

Learning Outcomes

Students are expected to learn how to use critique in order to discuss their own work and the work of others. Experimental techniques and materials exploration are encouraged while distinguished artworks are critically discussed as paradigms of creative practices within a contemporary social and cultural context.
