RESEARCH METHODOLOGIES AND ARCHIVES
Description
Τhe starting point of the course is the introduction to the category of the archive, approaching different types of archives through the history of the institution and through theoretical approaches that highlight the central position of the archive in the constitution of institutions, culture and cultural policies as well as in the construction of subjectivity and publicness.
Learning Outcomes
The course aims to familiarize students with the archive and (archival) research practice. It introduces research practices such as: research design, formulation of appropriate research questions to investigate a question/an hypothesis, identification of archival sources, documentation, classification, management, study and interpretation, strategy, collaborations, modes of mediation.
