Presentation

The Double Master’s Degree in Telecommunication Engineering (University of Vigo) and Master of Science in Electronics and Telecommunications (Charles University) is an international dual-degree program that allows students to earn two official master's degrees from both institutions.

The program is designed for students interested in advanced telecommunications, electronics, and communication technologies in an international environment. Participants spend two semesters at each university, complete an internship abroad during the third semester (Vigo students in Prague and Prague students in Vigo), and finish with a Master’s Thesis defended at the University of Vigo.

A maximum of 10 students per year can participate (5 from each university), ensuring a highly selective and personalized learning experience. The program combines academic training, research opportunities, industry exposure, and international mobility, preparing graduates for careers in telecommunications engineering, electronics, R&D, and technology innovation.

Main Objective

The main objective of the Double Master’s Degree in Telecommunication Engineering and Electronics & Telecommunications is to train highly qualified engineers with advanced knowledge and skills in telecommunications, electronics, and communication systems through an international and multidisciplinary learning experience.

The program aims to:

  • Provide specialized technical expertise in modern telecommunications and electronic technologies.
  • Develop students' ability to design, analyze, implement, and manage complex telecommunication systems.
  • Strengthen research, innovation, and problem-solving skills relevant to industry and academia.
  • Foster international and intercultural competencies through study and internship periods in both Spain and Poland.
  • Enhance graduates' employability and professional mobility by awarding two recognized master's degrees and exposing students to different academic and industrial environments.

Learning Outcomes

  • Apply advanced knowledge of telecommunications engineering to analyze, design, and optimize communication networks, systems, and services.
  • Design and develop electronic and telecommunication systems using state-of-the-art technologies, methodologies, and engineering tools.
  • Integrate multidisciplinary knowledge from telecommunications, electronics, signal processing, and information technologies to solve complex engineering problems.
  • Conduct research and innovation activities, including the formulation of research questions, experimental design, data analysis, and interpretation of results.
  • Evaluate and implement emerging technologies in telecommunications and electronics, considering technical, economic, and societal factors.
  • Manage engineering projects effectively, including planning, resource allocation, risk assessment, and quality assurance.
  • Communicate technical information clearly and effectively to both specialized and non-specialized audiences in an international context.
  • Work collaboratively in multicultural and interdisciplinary teams, demonstrating leadership, teamwork, and professional responsibility.
  • Apply professional and ethical principles in the development and deployment of telecommunication and electronic systems.
  • Gain practical international experience through mobility periods and internships, adapting to different academic, cultural, and professional environments.
  • Demonstrate autonomous learning and lifelong learning skills necessary for continuous professional development in rapidly evolving technological fields.
  • Develop and defend an independent Master's Thesis, demonstrating the ability to apply advanced engineering knowledge to a real-world or research challenge.
