Learning Outcomes
This course takes place in the 5th semester of the course and reinforces the notion of systems development life cycle and its integration. It aims to provide students with the fundamental knowledge, skills and competences within the scope of Systems Engineering integrated in organizations, especially contemporary systems, namely information systems, and to demonstrate how these systems are used throughout global organizations. The focus of this course will be on the major components of systems - people, software, hardware, data, and communication technologies, and how these components can be integrated and succeed in creating competitive advantage. Thus, you will gain an understanding of how information is used in organizations and how it enables you to improve quality, speed, and agility. It will thus be possible to correlate, use and integrate the knowledge obtained in other course units in the organizational environment in a real work context.
Thus, at the end of this course the student should be able to
CO1 - Define a system in a technical and business perspective relating technology, people and organizational components (NB: 4)
CO2 - Evaluate the role of information systems in the current global and competitive business context (NB: 5)
CO3 - Explain how enterprise applications promote business process integration and improve organizational performance (NB: 2)
CO4 - Apply good business process and system design/modeling practices to describe the specifications, features and operations required to meet the functional requirements of the proposed system ) (NB: 4)
