Learning Outcomes
The lessons are oriented toward develop competencies in each technology regarding to:
-General principles of functioning and main available techniques
-Field of application of the different technologies and related techniques
-Castings materials, tools and equipment / machinery associated with different manufacturing processes
- Main working parameters to control and its influence on the quality of products manufactured
- Depending on the requirements defined in the specification to identify the most suitable manufacturing techniques
-Identification of defects and analysis of the main causes in order to take corrective actions
-Consultation of various standards and technical specifications.
CASTING
LOF1-Develop and recognize the importance of foundry flowchart, according to the molding process and parts requirements;
LOF2-Know the rules to the conception of molding tools and core boxes;
LOF3-Interpret the general principles for dimensioning gating and feeder systems, according to the molding process and parts quality requirements;
LOF4-Know the specific characteristics of the main non-permanent molding processes and application fields;
LOF5-Know the specific characteristics of the main permanent molding processes and application fields.
WELDING
LOW1- Interpret drawings containing welded joints;
LOW2- Analyze and interpret welding specifications for each item;
LOW3- Understand the influence of working parameters and how to control them;
LOW4- Understand the specificity of the main welding processes, advantages and disadvantages;
LOW5- Function of the design specifications, batch size and the means of manufacture available, select the suitable welding process.
