CP5: Stress and Strain analysis.

Learning Outcomes

The syllabus of Course aim to give the student practical knowledge and relevant design methods in order to calculate the strains and stresses on the parts installed or structural elements in the elastic domain, when these elements are under the influence of external loads. Such as:

OB1: Know, understand and interpret the functional modes of simple mechanisms in order to develop schemes of calculation to translate with enough approximation to the actual loads of a given structural component or a component of a machine, allowing to apply techniques and appropriate tools to the definition and calculation of internal forces in a component of a machine or a structure;
OB2: Know and understand the properties and behavior of the most common materials in mechanical engineering;
OB3: Apply the techniques and appropriate tools to the definition, calculation and mathematical treatment of stress states, in order to find the critical points of a component of a machine or structure;
OB4: Design or verify structural elements or machine, using the criteria of resistance and rigidity more common, having critical spirit on the obtained results.
