CP1) The project to be developed addresses one of the following thematic areas: lift systems, mechanisms, mechanical transport systems, air conditioning systems; in the option stage, the subject is proposed by the company, subject to approval under the conditions defined in the regulation of the PESTM Internship option; the project or work will give rise to a Project /Training Report that should include a brief introduction to the Development Methodology of the proposed solution (CP2), the Sizing of the solution, also in compliance with the legal and normative requirements (CP3), the Technical Specifications of the equipment and materials necessary for its realization (CP4) and a set of Drawings that adequately characterize the proposed solution (CP5). The interaction between working groups in the classroom is encouraged, and in the internship option, student integration into the business environment (CP6). The Project will be presented and defended orally (CP6) to an evaluation panel.
Learning Outcomes
The specific objective of the curricular unit is focused on the elaboration of one practical work in the form of Project or Internship, well defined and marked, with the accompaniment of a teacher and, in the case of the Internship option, also the tutor in the welcoming entity.
Each student, or group of students in the Project option, will be proposed to carry out work with relevance and applicability in the field of mechanical engineering.
The objectives of the curricular unit are:
OB1: mobilize previously acquired knowledge to solve real engineering problems, including the skills acquired in the Project I course;
OB2: research, analyze and evaluate existing solutions for mechanical systems or thermal systems;
OB3: select and apply techniques and methods in solving real engineering problems, assessing their limitations;
OB4: critically evaluate the solutions from a technical, ethical and social point of view;
OB5: to improve and/or adapt existing solutions according to prerequisites, adopting design and calculation methodologies and research, as applicable, in accordance with current legislation and standards;
OB6: development of team skills in the area of coordination between projects/work groups and interdisciplinary;
OB7: acquire technical and professional skills in mechanical engineering, which in the Internship option will be in real working context;
OB8: communicate orally and in writing, arguing and defending their solutions.
