The School of Mining and Energy Engineering (Escola de Enxeñaría de Minas e Enerxía / Escuela de Ingeniería de Minas y Energía) has its roots in the long tradition of mining engineering in Spain and was established at Vigo in 1992, becoming one of the few centres in the country devoted to mining and energy engineering, and the only one in Galicia.
Its mission is to train highly qualified engineers who can respond to modern challenges in resource extraction, energy production and use, sustainable technologies, and related industrial and environmental issues.
