Current Intensity and Electric Current Density. Ohm's Law. Energy and Power. RC Circuits.
1.3. Magnetism
Definition of Magnetic Field; magnetic field energy. Gauss's Law of Magnetism.
2. Introduction to Fluid Mechanics
2.1. Properties of Fluids
Density, Compressibility, Bulk Elasticity, Thermal Expansion, Stress, Viscosity, Surface Tension, Capillarity and Pressure. Pascal's and Archimedes' Laws. Equilibrium and Floating Bodies. Manometers.
2.2. Hydrostatics
Pressure and Buoyancy. Stevin's Law. Forces on flat and curved surfaces.
2.3 Fluid dynamics
Types of flows; flow rate. Continuity equation and Bernoulli's equation. Real fluids; viscosity.
Learning Outcomes
The objective of this course is to introduce the concepts of electricity, electromagnetism, and fluids. The student should:
