Course objectives are to: • To explain historical aspect of tourism development. • students understand and use basic concepts of tourism science and tourism industries. • To explain Slovenian tourism sector and international tourism. • To explain tourism industries and tourism products. • To discuss tourism planning and development tourism on a destination. Competencies that are gained by the students are: • Understandig tourism as developmental policy. • Understanding tourism as a complex and interdependent phenomenon. • Understanding and the use of professional expresions in tourism.

Knowledge and understanding: The foreseen study results of a students are shown in: - Understand historical development of tourism. - Understand and use basic concepts in discussion. - Identify various forms of tourism products. - Recognize various concepts pf tourism development. - Describe Slovenian tourism products. - Identify components of tourism sector and stake-holder structure in tourism. - Know contemporary trends in tourism.

Assessment Methods and Criteria

Written exam. 60% Seminar work. 30% Field work. 10% A student passes the course when each segment of the course is graded with a positive grade.
