A modern working environment in any organization demands knowledge and understanding of business and production environments, and engineering systems in the broadest possible sense. The implementation of tasks in the key engineering processes and in the context of the managerial jobs requires critical thinking and analytical solving of business problems.

Graduates of the Study Programmes understand the systems' engineering and are capable of managing business, work, and organizational processes at all levels of organization. The graduates also manage knowledge from the fields of Planning, Project Management, Product Development, Ergonomics, rationalisation of Engineering Systems, Environmental Protection, Quality Management, sustainable development, etc.

Main Objective

The main objective of the Enterprise Engineering Higher Professional Studies is to train the students into an expert who: Understands the operation and engineering in business and work systems, Implements and adapts himself/herself to the work in business processes with the acquired business, technical, and managerial knowledge successfully and, in doing so, uses the engineering principles of the modern environments, Uses and develops methods and techniques for successful and effective organization and management of business systems and perceives learning as a life-long process.

Competencies

Graduates of the Enterprise Engineering Professional Study Programme shall have the appropriate level of competence for: Operational setup, management and maintenance of the core – transformational process in the environment in which it operates (construction or engineering of processes for business and production systems), Organization and engineering of processes for product development (products and/or services), Organization and engineering of products and/or services production planning and management processes, Organization, engineering and coordination of processes, intended for the production of products and/or services, Organization, engineering and coordination of Project Management processes, Organization, engineering and coordination of Quality Control processes, Optimization of norms for labour, materials, means of production, deadlines, tolerance, etc. in engineering systems, Maintenance of integral and partial business and work systems’ organization, Prediction and deployment of equipment and means of production, Organization of transport, Definition of uniform standards for products and services engineering and production, Supervision of efficiency of the business and production systems’ engineering, Identification of the work contributions of groups, teams, or units, Motivation of employees for success at work, Innovations, Mastering the basics of engineering systems and environmental protection, Rational use of informational technology for the support of the core-transformation process, etc.

Structure and Distribution of Credits

Transfers between programmes are possible in accordance with accredited study programmes, the Criteria for Transfers between Study Programmes, the Statutes of the University of Maribor and other regulations. 1. Transitions between first cycle professional higher study programmes and transitions between academic study programmes and first cycle professional higher study programmes: Students of the FOV professional higher study programmes and related first cycle professional higher study programmes, and students of academic study programmes and related first cycle academic study programmes, enrolled in the first cycle professional higher study programme Enterprise Engineering shall be allowed to transfer between study programmes: 1. if the candidate fulfils the conditions for admission to the first year of the first cycle of the professional higher study programme Enterprise Engineering; 2. which, on completion of the studies, provide for the acquisition of comparable competences; 3. among which, according to the recognition criteria, at least half of the European Credit Transfer System (hereinafter referred to as ECTS) requirements from the first study programme may be recognised as relating to the compulsory subjects of the second study programme. The applications of candidates and the extent of the recognised study requirements will be examined by the Study Affairs Committee of the FOV UM. Enrolment in the upper year of study will be granted to a candidate who has been granted enough study requirements (ECTS) in the process to meet the accredited conditions for continuing studies in the upper year of study of the new study programme. 2. Transitions between first cycle professional higher programmes and post-secondary programmes: Graduates of post-secondary study programmes who have completed their post-secondary education and are enrolled in the first cycle professional higher study programme Enterprise Engineering are allowed to transfer between study programmes: 1. if the candidate fulfils the conditions for admission to the first year of the first cycle of the professional higher study programme Enterprise Engineering; 2. which, on completion of the studies, provide for the acquisition of comparable competences; 3. among which, according to the recognition criteria, at least half of the European Credit Transfer System (hereinafter referred to as ECTS) requirements from the first study programme may be recognised as relating to the compulsory subjects of the second study programme.
