Presentation
The Department of Computer Science and Biomedical Informatics operates since the academic year of 2004-2005. It is an innovative department in the field of applied sciences as it covers a wide range of areas, both in the field of Informatics and in the field of its applications in Biomedicine.
Main Objective
The Department forms a growing dynamic academic community with a notable distribution of highly-indexed scientific research publications and active participation in European and National Programs. Graduates have been distinguished at both professional and postgraduate levels in Greece and abroad.
Additionally, the Department has an award-winning Student Branch of the IEEE, an internationally recognized professional organization, while students are provided with an opportunity to acquire Pedagogical and Teaching Competence, upon completion of a course approved by the Greek Educational Policy Institute.
Competencies
Finally, the Department of Computer Science and Biomedical Informatics offers postgraduate and doctoral studies, as well as post-doctoral research in all above-mentioned fields.
