The General Department based in Lamia was established by article 22 of Law 4589/2019 (Government Gazette 13/A) and covers the educational needs of the Departments of the University of Thessaly. It does not award first-cycle degrees, but provides the possibility of preparing Postgraduate Studies Programs (P.M.S.) and doctoral dissertations. The P.M.S. programs that were provided by the Departments of the former TEI of Central Greece and which have been incorporated into the University of Thessaly and students are admitted to them for the academic year 2019-2020.
