The Bachelor’s Degree in Primary Education qualifies graduates to work as primary school teachers (Mestre/a en Educación Primaria) in various educational settings.
Students gain knowledge and skills to:
- Understand the aims and structure of school education and the role of the teacher
- Develop teaching, tutoring, classroom management, and educational planning competencies
- Contribute to the holistic development of primary‑aged students
- Integrate theory and practice in real classroom settings through supervised placements
The programme offers specialisations such as Physical Education, Music Education, and Curriculum Deepening, and is delivered mainly in Galician and Spanish.
Main Objective
This degree is designed to provide future primary education teachers with comprehensive training in pedagogy, psychology, linguistics, sociology, science, technology, and the arts. It prepares students for the complex educational, social, and cognitive challenges of teaching children typically aged 6 to 12 years.
